Producing Plastic
Plastic can be created in various ways, depending on the type of product
or material desired. These processes range from blow molding, extrusion molding,
compression molding, rotational molding, and structural foam molding. The video on the right demonstrates what is referred to as injection molding.
Injection molding is
the process by which plastic pellets
are heated to 600 degrees, injected into a mold, and then
rapidly cooled
into the final shape of the product being
produced. In this case, they are plastic bottles.
